Privacy Policy

Roborank (roborank.swatseo.net) and its free tools on roborank.io are operated by SWAT SEO. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what we don't store.

What we collect

• Email address -- used for authentication via magic link sign-in.
• Google Search Console data -- read-only access (webmasters.readonly scope) to your GSC properties, including search performance data. We access this data on your behalf to generate SEO recommendations.
• WordPress site data -- content and metadata retrieved via your WordPress REST API connection, used to analyze and suggest changes to your site.
• Changelog -- a log of changes made through Roborank to your site, stored per domain on our server for your reference.
• Conversation history -- AI chat conversations related to your site, stored per domain.

Free SEO Audit tool

Our free SEO Audit and Backlink Checker tools (on roborank.io) can be used without an account. When you use the SEO Audit tool we collect and process:

• The website you audit -- the domain you enter. We fetch publicly available information about it (search rankings, backlinks, its public pages, robots.txt and homepage HTML) to build the report.
• Your email address -- only if you choose to unlock the full report. We use it to email you the report and to send occasional SEO tips (you can unsubscribe at any time).
• Your "ideal customer" note -- optional free-text you provide to tailor the recommendations.

We store the generated report and, keyed to your email, the domain and "ideal customer" note you provided. If you later sign into Roborank with that same email, we use this to pre-fill your site details during setup so you don't re-enter them. This linking happens only when the email matches; using a different email means nothing is pre-filled. You can ask us to delete this data at any time (see below).

What we do NOT store on our servers

Roborank uses a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) model for third-party APIs. The following are stored only in your browser's localStorage and are never sent to or stored on our servers:

• AI API keys (Claude, OpenAI)
• SEO data API keys (DataForSEO and similar services)
• WordPress Application Passwords

These keys are sent directly from your browser to the respective API providers. We never see, log, or store them.

Third-party services

• Google OAuth -- used to authenticate your Google Search Console connection. We request read-only access.
• Resend -- used to send magic link authentication emails and to deliver your free SEO audit report.
• Anthropic (Claude) -- used to generate the written SEO audit report from the collected data. Audit inputs are sent to Anthropic to produce the report.
• DataForSEO -- used by our free tools to fetch publicly available SEO data (rankings, backlinks) about the domain you audit.
• Kit (ConvertKit) -- if you unlock a free audit, your email is added to our SEO tips newsletter. You can unsubscribe from any email.
• Slack -- we receive an internal notification when a free audit is run (the domain and score) or unlocked (your email), so we can monitor and improve the tool.
• Microsoft Clarity -- product analytics (heatmaps and anonymized session replay) on our public marketing pages and free tools, used to understand usage and improve them. Not used inside the authenticated app.
• Railway -- our hosting provider. Per-domain data (changelog, conversations) and free-audit reports are stored on Railway's persistent storage.

Cookies & analytics

The Roborank app uses a single session cookie to keep you logged in. On our public marketing pages and free tools (on roborank.io) we use Microsoft Clarity, a product-analytics service that helps us understand how visitors use those pages through heatmaps and anonymized session replay. Clarity may set its own cookies and collect usage, interaction, and device information on those pages. See Microsoft's privacy statement for details. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run Clarity inside the authenticated app.

Data retention and deletion

Your per-domain data (changelog, conversations) is retained as long as your account is active. Free SEO audit reports and the email-keyed details used for setup pre-fill are retained until you ask us to remove them. You can request deletion of all your data at any time by emailing us. We will delete your data within 30 days of the request.

Data security

All connections to Roborank are encrypted via HTTPS. API keys never leave your browser. Server-stored data is limited to what's described above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Roborank evolves. We'll update the date at the top when we do.
