Roborank

SEO Title Generator

We read the page and write seven title tags from it. Different formats, all inside the length Google actually displays, none of them clickbait.

Free, a few runs a day per visitor. Nothing you enter is stored.

Titles are worth most on the pages that already rank.

Roborank reads your Search Console data, finds the pages sitting in positions 5 to 15 with poor CTR, rewrites their titles, and publishes the change.

The title tag is the one piece of metadata that ranks

Unlike the meta description, the title tag is a genuine ranking signal, and it is also the largest, bluest, most clickable thing in the result. It carries two jobs at once: telling Google what the page is about, and convincing a person to choose it over nine alternatives.

Google rewrites titles on roughly a third of results, usually when the title is stuffed with keywords, when it is boilerplate repeated across the site, or when the H1 on the page describes it better. A clear title that matches the page is the way to keep the one you wrote.

Length

The cut is at about 600 pixels on desktop, which lands somewhere between 55 and 60 characters depending on how wide your letters are. A title in capitals or full of Ms runs out of room faster than one in lowercase. The generator targets 50 to 60 characters including any brand suffix.

Being cut is not fatal if the important part came first. A title whose keyword sits at character 65 is a real problem, because on a truncated result nobody sees it at all.

The formats that work, and when

What gets a title rewritten by Google

Keyword stuffing

"Podcast Hosting, Podcast Host, Best Podcast Hosting 2026" gets swapped for something from the H1 almost every time.

Boilerplate across the site

Every page titled "Example Co | Podcast Hosting" tells Google nothing about which page is which, so it writes its own.

Titles that are far too long

Past about 70 characters, Google is more likely to replace the title than truncate it.

A title that contradicts the page

If the H1 and the content point one way and the title points another, Google trusts the page.

How this generator works

Give it a URL and we fetch the page, strip the markup, and pass the readable text to Claude along with the current title and H1. It writes seven titles in different formats, and it will not invent a number the page does not contain, because it is working from the actual content rather than from the keyword alone.

You can also paste the content directly for a page that is not published yet.

Measuring whether it worked

Change the title, note the date, and look at Search Console three to four weeks later. Compare clicks and CTR against the same length of time before the change, and check position separately, since a CTR gain that comes with a position drop is a different story. One page at a time is slow but honest. Changing forty titles in a week leaves you unable to say which one did anything.

Frequently asked questions

How long should a title tag be?

Aim for 50 to 60 characters. Google truncates at roughly 600 pixels, which lands near 60 characters for typical text. Put the important words first so a truncated title still makes sense.

Is the title tag a ranking factor?

Yes. Unlike the meta description, the title tag is used for ranking, and it is also the most visible part of your result. It does double duty as a relevance signal and as the thing people click.

Why did Google change my title tag?

Usually because it was stuffed with keywords, repeated as boilerplate across the site, much too long, or contradicted by the page content. Google rewrites titles on roughly a third of results, most often using the H1.

Should I put my brand name in the title?

On commercial and homepage-adjacent pages where the brand carries weight, yes. On informational content competing on the topic, it is usually 12 characters better spent on the subject.

Should the title and the H1 be the same?

They do not have to be, and there is often a good reason for them to differ. The title is written for a search result with a length limit, the H1 is written for someone already on the page. They should agree about what the page is.

Does adding the year to a title help?

It lifts click-through on anything where freshness matters, because it signals the page is current. It also commits you to updating both the title and the content each year. A 2024 in the title in 2026 does more harm than no year at all.

Does AI-written title text hurt SEO?

No. Google judges whether the title accurately describes the page, not how it was written. A title that overpromises is the problem, whoever produced it.

Is this SEO title generator free?

Yes, with no signup. There is a small daily limit per visitor because each run costs us an AI call.
